How does a walking tour work?

Pick a Portland tour, start it, and walk stop to stop. At each stop you get the story for that place. With auto-advance on (default), arriving near a stop starts a short countdown, then moves you forward. Tap "Stay here" or Speak to cancel. Follow-up Q&A is coming soon.

Location / GPS permissions

Streetyarn uses your location during a tour to detect when you arrive at a stop and to show you on the map. If you deny location, arrival auto-advance will not work, but you can still open stops manually. On the web, browsers ask for location permission over HTTPS.

Free vs paid passes

Free: 1 tour per day, 3 tours per rolling week, and up to 5 stops per tour. Starting a tour counts toward the cap. If you hit the cap, the app tells you why and links to passes. Paid passes (1 week, 2 weeks, Annual, High-use) unlock more tours. See Passes in the app for current test-catalog details. When a pass expires, you go back to the free plan.

Offline Portland catalog

If the live catalog cannot load, Streetyarn uses the bundled Portland catalog and shows that you are offline. Tours still work. Sync and account features that need the network may not.

Account sign-in (Apple / Google)

Sign-in is used for usage tracking and paid plans. It is available now in the iOS and Android apps; web sign-in is coming later. You can use the offline catalog without signing in.

Cancel / refund

To cancel or request a refund, use the store you paid with (Apple App Store or Google Play). Streetyarn support (sales@ethden.com) cannot process App Store or Google Play refunds directly; the store handles those. For other billing questions, tap Contact support below.

Maintenance / app unavailable

If Streetyarn shows that it is temporarily unavailable, wait a bit and try again. If the problem lasts past the posted window, tap Contact support below.

Privacy / location data

Location is used for arrival detection and map features while you use the app. There is no separate privacy policy page yet during the web test. Questions about privacy or account deletion are handled personally: tap Contact support below and email sales@ethden.com.
